Make an Impact as a Family Advocate
As a Family Advocate you will ensure the implementation of the Family Child Care - Early Head Start program by supporting individual families as they move towards self-sufficiency by advocating, educating, and providing established resources throughout the community.
As the Family Advocate, you will be responsible for recruiting eligible families for program enrollment, responsible for enrollment of child in conjunction with CCG enrollment team, ensuring compliance of program standards and requirements for EHS Family Child Care homes.
This position will attend community events as needed.Additionally, you will communicate regularly with families and track health, dental, needs assessments and attendance of children.
You will work with Early Head Start program to provide a smooth transition from one program to another when child terms out of FCC.
The Family Advocate develops and maintain relationships with families, community resources in Dallas Fort Worth, and assistManager with administrative tasks.
You will serve multiple family childcare homes and work under the direct supervision of the Early Childhood Center Manager with considerable demand for independent judgment and action.

Position Details
Responsibilities
- Communication with Families : Maintains ongoing contact with families; conducts home visits, refers families to appropriate in-house and / or community services, offers casework intervention, and functions as a liaison between parents, staff, and community agencies.
- Monthly Parent Meetings / Involvement : Maintains parent involvement programs including planning and conducting monthly parent meetings, promoting, maintaining, and supporting parent volunteer efforts.
- FCC Monthly Provider Meeting : Assist Early Childhood Center Manager conducting monthly Provider meeting and addressing any Family Support topics.
- Recruitment / Enrollment : Maintains full enrollment in EHS / Family Child care homes and analyzes attendance when ADA drops below 85%.
Coordinates and implements recruitment of clients, enrollment, and orientation procedures.
- Records Management : Maintains and completes all social service records.
- Case Management : Coordinates and participates in the case management process, including administrating the Family Risk Assessment, Family Goals, and other required documents.
Presents cases as needed at Family Support meetings.
Database Maintenance : Requires the acquisition of knowledge and proficiency of the ChildPlus database within the introductory period of employment.
ChildCareGroup will train the employee.
- In-kind contributions : Solicits and records a variety of in-kind contributions for the program, including parent volunteer hours.
- Assists with special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, family studies, or related field required
- Must have at least 3-5 years’ experience working with children and community representatives
- Minimum of two (2) years working in a social service agency required
- Experience working in non-traditional early childhood settings; ie : Family Child Care, Home Visiting, Homeless Shelters, Specialized EC settings preferred but not a requirement
- The ability to communicate with a culturally diverse population and work well with families, staff, and others is essential
- Must demonstrate ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders parents, teachers, community leaders, and partnership staff verbally and in writing
- Must demonstrate leadership ability and the ability to function as a team member
- Must demonstrate understanding of high quality customer service standards
- Prompt and regular attendance and dependable making scheduled visits with parents
- Must have the ability to time manage, and conduct multiple tasks
- Assist Early Childhood Center Manager as needed
- High proficiencyutilizing computer and database preferred

Travel and Compliance Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Driving record must comply with CCG's automobile insurance carrier requirements
- Must have liability insurance coverage and reliable personal transportation
- Ability to travel locally or out of town as required
- Mileage reimbursement is offered when applicable
- Must successfully meet all compliance background check requirements for federal funding throughout employment
