Your Day to Day:
Supervisory (30%)
*Actively participating in the interviewing and hiring processes and ensuring successful functional onboarding of new direct care team members.
*Planning, assigning and directing work for direct reports.
*Setting reasonable stretch performance goals, providing constructive, balanced, regular performance feedback, and conducting annual performance appraisals.
*Recognizing and rewarding performance excellence.
*Communicating and enforcing company policies and programs.
*Applying corrective action, addressing complaints and resolving problems in a timely fashion, involving and collaborating with leadership and Human Resources as appropriate.
Functional (70%)
*Ensures adequate childcare coverage is available to support a safe and secure therapeutic environment. Provides weekly supervision to each Childcare Counselor in the cottage or group home to ensure consistent implementation of the therapeutic program.
*Oversees the supervision, protection and care of children by direct care staff within the regulations of Title 22. Acquires an understanding of Childhelp policy and procedures and is able to administer these guidelines.
*Develops, organizes, and evaluates the residential and activity programs as they apply to the cottage with the goal of providing support to each child’s individual Treatment Plan. Participates with peers and the Residential Manager in implementing processes to enhance the residential treatment program.
*Completes routine personnel paperwork for those individuals under their supervision to include vacation requests, time sheets, employee grievances, etc.
*Maintains cottage or group home budgetary systems and inventory for food, office supplies, and other living supplies. Oversees that the needs of residents are met including clothing inventories and birthday requests.
*Provides leadership and positive role modeling for all staff through regular involvement in all scheduled meetings and training.
*Conducts all assigned duties in a professional ethical manner, which protects the rights and dignity of all children served, and all employees supervised.
*Other duties as assigned.
*Requirements*
Education/Experience/Knowledge/Understanding
*Bachelor’s degree in social work or psychology and two years of professional experience working with children one year of which must have been in a residential facility for children - Or - HS Diploma or a GED and a minimum of five years professional experience working with children with at least two years in a residential facility for children.
*Knowledge and understanding of the needs of children served in a children’s residential setting.
*Must be at least 21 years of age.
*Possess a valid unrestricted driver license.
Preferences
*BA / BS degree in a related field.
*2 years of previous supervisory experience involving hiring, managing performance, and planning/assigning and monitoring work of subordinate staff.
