As a Preschool Teacher's Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the Lead Teacher and children during activities and more.
Position (Part-Time)
- Toddlers (between ages 18 -24 months) Teacher's Assistant
- Toddlers (between ages 24-36 months) Teacher's Assistant
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supporting the teacher: Helping with lesson plans, classroom preparation, and daily activities
- Supporting the students: Helping students understand, monitoring their behavior, and helping with their basic needs
- Maintaining a safe environment: Keeping the classroom clean and orderly, and ensuring the health and safety of the children
- Communication: Providing feedback to teachers, sharing information with other teachers and director
- Recording information: Maintaining individual records for each child, and recording student progress
- Supporting students with special needs: Alerting the teacher to any special needs that students may have
- Support Lead Teacher in setting up and organizing activities, provide breaks to Lead Teachers
- Change wet and dirty diapers or assist in taking children to bathroom in groups
- Create a nurturing, safe, and clean/organized classroom that encourages exploration and learning
- Following all licensing guidelines
- Change wet and dirty diapers
- Positively interact, support, and work as a team with preschool teachers and director
- Participation in staff and training meetings
- Assist with pick up/rides for After-School Program students
Minimum Qualification:
- 6 units of Early Child Education & Infant and toddler units
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young children
- Driver License or Identification Card
- Available to receive physician-signed health screening report
- Live Scan clearance
- Complete Child CPR
- Mandated Reporter AB 1207 Certificate
Skills
- Able to lift boxes or equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Able to move full range of motion.
