SWF (A Safeway Forward) is a therapeutic program in our Prevention continuum of services.  It is a home-based intensive model for families in the Bronx where Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) has put the family at risk of having their children placed outside the home. The model works with both the person causing harm and the survivor and provides both child-welfare prevention services and clinical therapeutic intervention services to all members of the family, using a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, to help families establish long-term safety and heal from the trauma of emotional and physical abuse. 

Position Summary:  The ClinicalSupervisor will provide direct supervision to a team of three therapists working to provide an array of comprehensive trauma-informed, client-centered, and anti-oppressive services to child welfare involved survivors of intimate partner violence, their children, and child welfare involved parents who have caused harm in their relationship and to their children. The Clinical Supervisor will report to the Clinical Director. 

 

Essential Duties: 

·         Provide weekly supervision to 3 therapists as they provide crisis intervention, comprehensive assessment, individual and group counseling services to survivors of IPV, their children, and parents who have caused harm (survivors, children, PCHs) and evidence-informed/based trauma treatment interventions to family members (i.e., TF-CBT, CPP.).

·         Responsible for planning and management of group counseling/intervention services to survivors, children, PCHs.

·         Schedule unit once monthly unit meetings with directs reports and with corresponding case planning units; maintain ongoing communication with program supervisors and schedule standing monthly meetings.

·         Coordinate monthly group clinical supervision to therapists in collaboration with the SWF clinical services team, i.e., clinical supervisor counterpart and the clinical director.

·         Discuss every case weekly and review all case records at least 1 time per month consistent with ACS Supervisory Standards

 

·         Document case discussions and case record reviews monthly in Supervisory Reviews for each case.

 

·         Ensure timely submission of all required assessments, progress notes, contacts with collaterals, and FTC, STC, and other comparable meetings.

 

·         Collaborate with all departments of ACS including FAP, DCP, OPTA, OPPP, or APA, etc., as needed to ensure the safety needs of children are being addressed and IPV best practice policies are followed.

 

·         Ensure therapists complete and submit intakes/assessments, progress notes, and contributions to FASPs, plan amendments in a timely manner.

 

·         Ensure therapists enter contacts in the PROMIS and connections system in a timely manner.

 

·         Participate in staff meetings, supervisory meetings, FTC’s and STC’s as prescribed by ACS.

·         Provide support and feedback to direct reports with professional development goals and track progress/modifications.

·         Conduct onboarding and trainings to new therapists and build in other learning opportunities to support staffs’ role and responsibilities.

·         Facilitate training on the intersection of IPV and child welfare and best practice standards for engagement and advocacy.

·         Contribute to the ongoing development of the clinical component of the program, including finalizing practice and systems protocols to adhere to prevention standards and best practices to child-welfare involved families affected by IPV.

·         Ensure that staff comply with agency conditions of employment related to attendance, hours of work/WorkForce1, and use of leave time, etc.

 

·         Ensure that all staff meet performance standards and comply with agency standards of behavior and code of conduct.

 

 

·         Complete performance evaluations and address performance issues in a timely and progressive manner.

 

·         Ensure that staff receives trainings as required by agency, ACS and program.

 

·         Comply with all privacy laws including HIPAA.

 

·         In-person collaboration is an essential function of the job.

 

 

·         Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

·         Master’s degree required in social work (MSW), Mental Health Counseling (MHC) or equivalent degree in any NYS license-eligible Mental Health profession. LMSW or LCSW equivalent licensing preferred.

·         Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.

·         Minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience required, clinical counseling experience in mental health, victim services, and/or social service fields strongly recommended.

·         Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.

·         Prior experience providing prevention and intervention services to underserved families affected by intimate partner violence using a trauma-informed, client-centered, anti-oppressive approach recommended.

·         Prior experience working with persons causing harm and/or abuse accountability programs preferred.

 

Key Competencies:

·         Knowledge of child development and trauma-informed practice as well as family systems, relational and attachment theories and framework, including evidence-based trauma treatment models, i.e., TF-CBT, CPP.

·         Ability to work under pressure, relate to families in crisis, and at risk of child placement due to neglect/abuse.

·         Work experience in community- and neighborhood-based programs.

·         Knowledge of the ACS CONNECTIONS and PROMIS systems; strong computer literacy skills.

·         Ability to work evenings/weekends as needed and maintain a flexible work schedule.

·         Strong clinical and administrative skills and very good interpersonal/communication skills.

·         Ability to work independently, as well as contribute to a team.

·         Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
