Senior GL Accountant - PART-TIME

Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented candidate to join our collaborative Business Office as a part-time (20-25 hours per week), in-person/remote flexible Senior General Ledger Accountant.

Responsibilities of this job include:

• Reconcile bank accounts.
• Perform reconciliations for Tuition, Endowment and Financial Aid and clearing accounts.
• Prepare general ledger entries, including payroll journal entries.
• Record financial data for deferrals, accruals, and reclassifications.
• Perform monthly and annual processes.
• Post journal entries in the accounting system (Blackbaud Financial Edge).
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable.
• Help prepare for the annual audit.
• Streamline processes and create efficiencies.
• Assist the team with projects.
• Assist the team with accounting issues and queries.
• Adhere to accounting standards and regulations.

Requirements for this position include:

• 5 years of experience working as a Senior GL Accountant, or a similar role in the accounting department preferably in an independent school.
• Accounting Degree preferred.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
• Proficiency in Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT or similar accounting software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (Excel-Pivot tables).
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work with large volumes of data and ability to meet deadlines.
• Work independently as well with staff and faculty.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational and analytical skills.

Compensation:

Salary will be based on qualifications and experience($45-$50 per hour). Benefits are offered, including medical, dental, and vision insurance and a retirement plan.
