What are the responsibilities and job description for the Distribution Tech- Food Services position at Children's Health?
The distribution technician is responsible for receiving, stocking, tracking, and serving in the Food Pantry at the Dallas Children's Specialty Center. As the distribution tech you will assist families with scheduling their food pantry appointments over the phone, helping them complete questionnaires, and preparing their food pantry order. This position also ensures the accuracy of deliveries, stock or non-stock, for resolving delivery shortages with carriers, and maintaining inventories and par levels. Also for following HACCP guidelines for receiving and stocking. The shift is Monday-Friday 8:30-5pm or 9-5:30pm with possibly one day 10am-6:30pm. The pay is $20/hr, full-time, with benefits.

Responsibilities:
- Answering phones and scheduling food pantry appointments while providing positive customer service during each interaction with customers.
- Inspect and receive all food items in at proper temperatures. Store refrigerated and frozen foods within one hour of delivery. Follow City of Dallas Health inspector's guidelines. Follows HACCP guidelines for receiving and storage. Clean work area as assigned.
- Receive incoming materials, supplies and equipment delivered to the department. Identify proper carton count with driver and compare packing slip information with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; resolve shortages with carrier. Assist in returning supplies / equipment according to established time frames.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- At least 1 year 1-2 years of previous warehouse / storeroom or related experience. Required.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Required.
- Food Handlers' Certificate 30 Days. Required.
- Civil Rights Training completed upon hire.
