Children’s Home Society is currently seeking a full time Speech and Language Pathologist to design and implement an approved speech and language therapy plan based on individual student needs in accordance with the organization’s Mission Statement and Core Values.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop prerequisites for speech/language development.
- Develop speech/language skills as necessary for classroom performance.
- Promote achievement in the areas of Speech and Language for qualified students.
- Participate in identification, assessment, and IEP development for delivery for eligible students.
- Participate in meetings and communicate with student's team members and parents on a routine basis-keeping them informed of child's progress.
- Maintain student records regarding the referral, evaluation, and placement process in compliance with Agency, state, and federal requirements.
- Utilize therapy techniques consistent with the research on the characteristics of effective speech/language therapy.
- Use effective teaching techniques to check for understanding, monitor student progress and effort, and provide continuous feedback.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, year-round *No weekends or holiday work.
Compensation: $60,000-$75,000 (depending on education and experience)

Requirements
Experience/Education/Skills:
- Master's Degree in Communication Disorders is required.
- Must have Clinical Competency Certification or be working towards the Clinical Competency Certification.
- Compliance with the rules regarding licensure and certification from the State of South Dakota.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the typical tasks of this position, the employee must be able to positively interact with dysregulated children and colleagues and be able to physically restrain a child as thoroughly taught by the Agency, as necessary, to maintain safety.
