House Parent/Live In - (Weekdays)
Full-time Position
Make a difference in the life of a child!
Tampa Bay Kids provides group homes to teen girls living in foster care. We are seeking a a live in - 5 days - House Parent to care of up to six girls in our home, ages range from 14-17 yrs. We are located in a beautiful gated community in New Tampa.
Job Summary:
Provide a safe and nurturing environment for girls in foster care.
Major Responsibilities:
- Meet the children’s emotional needs by being available and approachable.
- Ensure that children’s hygiene needs are met.
- Prepare meals and snacks for the children and create a “family-like” environment during meals.
- Ensure house is clean. Teach and supervise daily chores by the children.
- Transport children to all appointments as needed (medical; dental; court; family visits; etc.).
- Work closely with therapist and tea.
- Responsible for medication distribution.
- Complete bi-monthly inventory of needed toiletries, household supplies and groceries.
- Participate and plan recreational, social, educational, and vocational activities.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Degree
- Experience working with children at least 3 years or older
- Pass extensive level (2) two background check.
- Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record
