Summary
Children’s Hospital of New Orleans is seeking a dynamic Social Worker (LMSW or LCSW) to support our patients families and team memebers.
Supports and implements the mission, vision, and core values of Children’s Hospital. Assists in the delivery of care to the patient with acute and chronic medical conditions. Provides supportive counsel and resource management as ordered/indicated by patient need. Is instrumental in both the intake/admission and discharge processes. Completes a social history on all patients and participates in the setting of treatment goals. Keeps family members and referral sources abreast of the treatment process as permitted by patient consent. Assists medical team in maintaining a stable treatment and discharge plan.
The social worker will utilize communication and documentation skills listed in collaboration with RNs, LPNs and other team members to fulfill performance requirements. They assist in crisis management as necessary.
Requirements
Experience or training in providing services to children and adolescents preferred. Must have excellent skills in communication, the ability to work independently in a team environment, and to prioritize. Previous hospital or medical social work experience preferred.
Required : Master's degree; Louisiana licensed LMSW or LCSW
Proficient communication and interpersonal skills. Time management and organizational skills. Astute observational and assessment skills. Utilization of proper body mechanics. Crisis intervention.
Participation in performance improvement activities ensures important processes and activities are measured, assessed and improved.
