Overview

This position is responsible for the performance under supervision, of a limited number of laboratory tests in the Critical Care Laboratory. The data is used by the health care provider in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Judgment is exercised to ascertain the validity of test results and to communicate this information to the health care provider.

Responsibilities

• Receives specimens and performs a limited number of highly complex laboratory procedures in the Critical Care Laboratory following appropriate training and demonstration of competency.
• Performs manual and electronic result reporting
• Performs continuous quality assurance activities
• Assists in maintaining general operation of the Critical Care Laboratory

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in life sciences (60 college hrs) No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training Military Medical Laboratory procedures training of at least 50 weeks duration and experience as a Medical Laboratory Specialist obtained by April 1995. May substitute documentation of training and experience in Blood Gas analysis obtained before 1995.

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $20.01/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
