Job Summary :

The Resident Services Coordinator provides direct services and community building and engagement programming to residents living in Single Room Occupancy (SRO) hotels in the Chinatown / North Beach neighborhoods.

This position will help staff a SRO service hub which provides service to all SRO residents but will have special assignments to two properties, 937 Clay and Swiss American Hotel.

The position requires a motivated and resourceful individual who is sensitive to resident needs; has excellent service coordination, team-building and group facilitation skills;

and thrives in a relatively independent work environment.Status :

High school diploma or GED and a combination of five (5) years of experience in providing direct services in the form of information, referrals, and / or linkages to community and public resources to low-income populations as well as experience in developing, organizing, and implementing group activities

Two years of experience in developing, organizing, and implementing group activitiesBilingual and biliterate in English / CantoneseKnowledge of, and sensitivity to, the needs of low-income peopleAbility to travel and coordinate services for several buildings in San FranciscoDemonstrated knowledge and commitment to community building and engagement as a way to increase resident engagement and leadership developmentPreferred QualificationsKnowledge of public benefits and how to screen for benefits eligibilityDemonstrated commitment to and knowledge of Chinatown neighborhood and community resourcesExperience providing services to seniors and adults with substance use / mental health needsExperience delivering services to SRO resident communitiesExperience working with on-site Property Management to promote housing stabilization / retention for low-income residentsPrior experience measuring program outcomes
