Chippenham Hospital, a 466-bed acute care facility, is located on the Southside of Richmond, a short drive from the beautiful, outdoor Stony Point Fashion Park, offering an abundance of shops, restaurants, and even a dine-in movie theater. SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Follows all hospital safety procedures including universal precautions, and use of proper body mechanics.
- Assures satisfaction of customers (patients, family, physicians, and staff).
- Demonstrates effective communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of all equipment including exercise, oxygen, pulse oximetry, and glucose monitoring.
- Responsible for the clinical management of patients before, during, and after exercise sessions.
- Completes and documents initial assessment/evaluation, reassessment, patient goals and plan of care on assigned patients (case management).
- Initiates and documents patient teaching.
- Utilizes telemetry monitoring system; recognizes dysrhythmias.
- In the absence of the exercise physiologist, adjusts individual patient’s exercise prescription based on department policy.
- Completes mandatory hospital and department competencies as assigned.
- Participates in department CQI and Patient Outcome activities.
What qualifications you will need:
EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:
- Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing from a school of professional nursing (required)
- BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program at an accredited school of Nursing (preferred)
- LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Virginia as a Registered Nurse (required)
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (required)
- ACLS (required)
- PALS (required or willing to obtain)
- EXPERIENCE:
- Required: One year experience as a staff nurse on a telemetry or critical care unit
- Preferred: Cardiac Rehabilitation experience
