POSITION OVERVIEW: Chiquita is currently seeking a Tax Manager to join the Corporate Tax team. We are searching for a dynamic and motivated individual to manage and review tax accounting and international tax implications from both US and global tax perspectives. Reporting to the Global Head of Tax, the individual must be organized, committed, and able to work independently with a hands-on, problem-solving attitude. This position is located in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the end-to-end global tax provision preparation:
- Ensure the accuracy and consistency of reporting tools for tax purposes.
- Ensure the correct calculation, consolidation, and reporting of the US and foreign tax provision.
- Monitor and manage the deferred taxes, effective tax rate and tax losses.
- Main point-of-contact for external auditors.
- Manage and review US international tax calculations, including but not limited to E&P analysis, GILTI, Subpart F, FDII, BEAT, CAMT, FTC.
- Support the Global Head of Tax in the global tax planning initiatives (direct taxes, indirect taxes, transfer pricing, BEPS), special projects and in minimizing tax risks & controversy globally.
- Research complex tax issues for international tax planning, M&A, tax accounting, and tax compliance.
- Work closely with non-US tax teams in analyzing US tax implications of non-US operations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or relevant field; Master’s Degree preferred.
- 5 or more years of experience with significant tax accounting experience in multinational environment.
- US international tax planning and compliance experience.
- Knowledge of IFRS accounting pronouncements.
- Excellent communications skills – able to communicate with all levels of management.
- Team-oriented, motivated, hands-on/problem solver mentality and professional.
- CPA preferred.
- Spanish is a plus.
JOB ENVIRONMENT:
- Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
- Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal.
- Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment during normal workday.
- Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
This position requires satisfactory passing of a drug test in accordance with Florida Statute § 440.102.
