Job Title: Development and Community Engagement Director

General Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree preferred.

· Strong knowledge of the entire donor life cycle-(identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship).

· Work in a team environment requiring flexibility and cooperation.

· Grant writing expertise.

· Maintain professionalism, organizational standards, and confidentiality as a representative of the CTHC to all donors, members, and board of directors.

· Work as an individual with minimal supervision.

· Be able to routinely lift 30 pounds and heavier weights with assistance.

· Physically climb ladders and stools, walk, and navigate uneven terrain and small spaces.

· Be skilled at online graphics design platforms to create social media graphics and presentations. Canva program knowledge preferred.

· Understand basic database management techniques.

· Work a variable schedule as needed to complete tasks including some early morning, night, and weekend duty.

· Maintain at least conversational knowledge of current trends in ranching and western culture. Be able to talk

about the historic significance of the Chisholm Trail and its place in history.

  • Attend professional seminars related to this position to improve job performance.
  • Attend all board and events committee meetings.

Community Involvement & Community Point Person

Works in conjunction with the Boards to develop the strategic direction and establish initiatives to fulfill the

mission of the Center and increase local, statewide, national, and international awareness and prominence.

· Work with the event and marketing coordinator to develop and implement a cohesive marketing approach with many diverse entities.

· Work with other entities on coordinated programming and exhibits.

· Oversee updates to website pages as needed (current exhibits, events, artists, etc.).

  • Develop an effective communications plan to raise the profile of the Center.
  • Enhances the Center’s public image to expand interest and support.
  • Increase local awareness by speaking at civic clubs, events, etc.
  • Work with Duncan CVB to bring visitors, tour groups, etc. to the Center.
  • Actively promote the Center as a tourist destination.

Serves as spokesperson and chief advocate for the Center.

  • Establishes strong partnerships in the communities involved in the Center
  • Work with Great Plains Association, and Chickasaw Nation

Coordinate social media posts with event and marking coordinator

Membership Development

Contact businesses and corporationsencouraging them to become corporate members

  • Develop relationships with current members
  • Maintain membership records and ensure membership renewals are mailed. Using The Auxilia database

enter all renewals, donations, and new members.

  • Enhance current membership within a development plan.

Fundraising

  • Develop, execute, oversee, and maintain a comprehensive development plan. (Fundraising income, annual

fund, special events, business memberships, planned giving, and other sources of contributed income) on

an annual basis.

  • Develop all financial budgets for memberships, event sponsorship, business memberships, and other gifts,

Including income and expenses. Monitor and meet budget goals.

  • In conjunction with the Executive Director and board of directors, ensure the CTHC identifies, cultivates, and

nurtures key relationships with donors, event sponsors, program underwriters, and business members.

  • Leads and participates in all fundraising activities, and development activities, including grant writing and

developing relationships with foundations, corporations, and individual donors.

  • Research and write new grants. Assist with established grants. Maintain all records and complete final

reports.

Events

Coordinate and work with the event and marketing coordinator, events committee, and staff to ensure

a successful event.

  • Work with the volunteer coordinator to ensure enough people to manage all stations.
  • Assist with special event set-up, tear-down, and staffing as requested.

Other duties as Required

Assist in the gift shop as requested.

Perform routine cleaning and maintenance as requested.

  • Assist with tours

  • $40,000 - $50,000 based on experience
