What are the responsibilities and job description for the ABA Behavior Technician position at Chitter Chatter?
Position Summary: The Behavior Technician implements individualized treatment plans targeted at skill acquisition and behavior reduction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. The Behavior Technician is responsible for both implementing and collecting data on programs for clients developed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts. The Behavior Technician will also be responsible in aiding their supervisor with clinical assessments as needed. The Behavior Technician will report directly to the BC or BCBA assigned to their case.
Responsibilities:
- Receives extensive training to implement behavior analytic intervention
- Completes the RBT Certification within 6 months of beginning employment
- Provides 1:1 psychoeducational services to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Implements individualized treatment plans as designed by the supervisory team
- Responds to a variety of problem behavior as outlined in the behavior intervention plan
- Collects data regarding current performance of target skills and problem behavior
- Collaborates with supervisory staff to ensure optimal outcomes during intervention
- Coordinates with administration staff as needed
- Documents services using industry best practice standards
- Travels between home and clinic settings
- Completes progress note and tracker for client
- Understands and references employee handbook to follow company policies and procedures
- Adheres to the guidance and discretion of organizational leadership
Other relevant duties and center support tasks as assigned
Requirements:
Educational Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and valid automobile insurance
- Completion of Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification, or willingness
- to complete all required coursework and examination within the first 6 months days of job offer
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Other Requirements/Qualifications:
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- At least 18 years of age
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must be available to work evening hours (at least three evenings weekly)
- Some experience with children, individuals with developmental disabilities, direct support, education, or a related field preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; sit in a child size chair or on the floor and quickly switch from sitting to standing; walk, jog, or run quickly
- CPR/First Aid Certification
