Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide support for the design, compilation, and presentation of compelling digital and hard copy media Utilize geospatial technologies to provide technical support for natural resource applications including basic image interpretation, image interpretation and analysis, routine data processing and management, map plot composition and production, and documentation, including report assembly and distribution.

Job Classification: Full Time Employee

 

Compensation:

  • Non-exempt
  • Starting at $21 to $41  per hour (Equivalent to $45,000 to $85,000 per year) 
  • Chloeta reserves the right to offer any candidate above or below the listed compensation amount based on experience or business needs.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Geospatial Data Processing: Utilize geospatial software, such as ERDAS Imagine or Esri ArcGIS, to process, analyze, and model geospatial data for natural resource applications. This includes working with satellite and airborne imagery to extract meaningful information.
  • Image Interpretation and Analysis: Conduct image interpretation and analysis tasks to extract relevant information from geospatial data sources. This may involve identifying changes in land cover, assessing environmental conditions, and detecting trends or anomalies.
  • Data Management: Maintain routine data processing and management tasks, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and organization of geospatial datasets. This includes data acquisition, storage, retrieval, and quality control.
  • Map Production: Create maps and cartographic products for natural resource applications. This involves map plot composition, layout design, and the integration of geospatial data into visually informative maps for decision-making and reporting.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Assemble and distribute documentation, reports, and technical findings related to geospatial analyses. Communicate findings effectively to colleagues and stakeholders, providing clear and concise information to support decision-making processes.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to process, analyze, and model data in geospatial software, e.g., ERDAS Imagine or Esri ArcGIS. 
  • Experience in earth sciences and knowledge of airborne and satellite imagery.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Certification or degree in non-related discipline along with related experience to geography, geographic information systems, remote sensing, or physical/biological/environment/natural resource discipline with substantive coursework in geospatial analysis and modeling, and one (1) year relevant work experience.

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree related to geography, geographic information systems, remote sensing, or physical/biological/environment/natural resource discipline with substantive coursework in geospatial analysis and modeling.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • May require occasional travel to physical locations.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • This job operates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc.
