Job Summary
Chloeta is seeking a Statistician to work remote. The applicant must have applicable experience and knowledge to formulate reporting questions, outlining the specific data needs and requirements to address the reporting need, develop new SAS programs necessary to conduct the analysis, carry out the statistical analyses, tabulate results, and assist senior staff of the statistics program to interpret and discuss the findings in no more than four efforts per year.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm remote.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Make certain that all CDC mortality, natality, and linked files are accessible on the IHS VM server;
- Develop SAS mortality files that have adjustment factors that will be used to compensate for misreporting of Al/AN on the state death certificate;
- Develop SAS natality files that also correct errors in the birth record, notably race.
- Discovery of numerous data files from the NIH server and their potential use;
- Assist with the Life Expectancy Report and Analysis of YPLL, Regional Differences in Indian Health (Trends in Indian Health), and special reports and ad hoc statistical analyses, quarterly, as needed.
- Provide Technical Assistance: provide technical assistance as deemed necessary for the Division of Program Statistics.
- Other duties as assigned.
KSAs:
- In-depth knowledge of the development and technical expertise in the development of SAS programs to produce adjustments to the mortality data provided by NCHS to compensate for misreporting of American Indian and Alaska Native (Al/AN) race on the state death certificate;
- Knowledge of how to adjust and analyze statistics taken from state birth certificates;
- Apply adjustment factors as specified by the Government to be determined mortality file;
- Apply adjustment factors to as specified by the Government to linked birth- infant death file;
- Government or industry experience working on a secure Windows server;
- Possess proven expertise in demographic analysis and the reporting of results;
Education/Experience:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in science or arts with a social science or public health discipline (demography preferred).
- Required: 5 years of experience in demography and computer programming.
- Required: Not have any organizational conflicts of interest as described in the Non-Disclosure Agreement.

Physical Requirements:
- Able to frequently lift at least 15-50 lbs., reach, pull, push, bend, stoop, and kneel.
- Prolonged sitting at a desk and working on a computer and standing/walking.
- At the time of hire, must provide a fitness for duty certificate issued by a licensed physician to perform the proposed job without significant risk to personal health or the health and safety of others.
- At the time of hire, must provide documentation of evidence of immunizations as required by the facility's immunization policy.

Pre-employment Requirements:

Salary : $76,500 - $96,900
