Job Summary:

Chloeta is seeking 2 Women's Health RNs to aid patients at a labor and deliver department of a medical center in Shiprock, NM. The RNs will perform a variety of responsible nursing care procedures requiring professional nursing knowledge to evaluate nursing needs, conditions, treatment, and education of Obstetrics/Gynecology, Labor & Delivery, and Women's Health patients.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Initiates and utilizes the nursing process to meet the holistic needs of the patient and family while adhering to the professional standards set forth by American Nurses’ Association.
  • Observes the patient's clinical condition: recognizes, identifies, and interprets serious and/or emergent situations while initiating appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Develops and implements patient/family teaching programs based on mutually identified health care goals.
  • Documents all observations, nursing interventions, therapeutic measures administered, and status of coordinated activities between nursing and other professional disciplines.
  • Evaluates the patient’s plan of care and revises plan as needed.
  • Safeguards the patient’s right to privacy by judiciously protecting information of a confidential manner.
  • Understands the developmental needs of all patients throughout the continuum of life; is able to adjust care to these needs; and documentation reflects this understanding.
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for individual nursing judgments and actions.
  • Provides guidance and leadership to other personnel in the form of in-services and orientation/preceptorship and participates in committee activities.
  • Participates in departmental and organizational performance improvement activities.
  • Utilizes incident and medication error reporting protocols per MHC policies.
  • Facilitates patient care across multiple disciplines, departments, and other non-MHC agencies through referrals and other business operations.
  • Educates patients and families about women’s health, pregnancy, and related disease processes.
  • Proficiently uses fetal monitoring devices to evaluate fetal well-being and charts accordingly in EHR.
  • Sets up and performs gynecological tests and OB/GYN related screenings and procedures as directed by provider.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Required: Current, valid, unrestricted nursing license in any state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States throughout the term of employment.
  • Required: An associate's (or higher level of education) degree in nursing from an accredited school in the U.S.A.
  • Required: Must have at least 3 years of experience as a RN with 2 years in the specialty.
  • Required: Maintain valid and current certifications and provide proof at the time of application in the following:
    • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS).
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS),
    • Advanced Trauma Care Nurse (ATCN) or Trauma Nurse Critical Care (TNCC)
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Required: Provide three (3) professional references at the time of application.
  • Required: Must have and maintain a current driver's license from any state of the U.S.A.
  • Required: Must be able to pass a federal background check.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to frequently lift at least 50 lbs., reach, pull, push, bend, stoop, and kneel.
  • Prolonged sitting at a desk and working on a computer and standing/walking.
  • At the time of hire, must provide a fitness for duty certificate issued by a licensed physician to perform the proposed job without significant risk to personal health or the health and safety of others. No history of drug abuse, i.e. alcohol, narcotics, etc.
  • At the time of hire, must provide documentation of evidence of immunizations as required by the facility's immunization policy.

Pre-employment Requirements:

This position may be contingent upon passing a security clearance, criminal background check (state and federal), drug screen, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review, education verification, employment verification, and/or credit check after acceptance of an offer and prior to beginning work, due to the nature of the services Chloeta provides and the responsibilities of this position.


Drug and Alcohol Testing:

To enforce Chloeta’s Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy, an employee or candidate could be subject to undergoing a drug screen and/or alcohol testing at the beginning of employment, as well as after commencement of employment where there is reasonable suspicion of intoxication, or following an automobile or other accident, or as part of a company or facility-wide random drug screen process.

Under the FCRA, Chloeta may request a credit check during the onboarding process. A written authorization form will be required before obtaining credit records.
