Housekeeper

CHNK is looking to hire a housekeeper to maintain a clean, sanitary, professional environment for the administrative offices, school classrooms, behavioral health treatment rooms, and residential facilities used by staff, clients, visitors and tenants of Children’s Home of Northern Kentucky (including school students). Position is under the supervision of the Facilities Manager and Maintenance Technician and Manager’s Assistant.

Essential Job Duties:

• Maintain a safe environment for residents, clients, visitors and staff while adhering to high standards of compliance with state regulators and other agency policies and procedures.
• Maintain the building and property by hands-on applications to ensure that facility is in the best condition possible.
• Perform routine tasks required to maintain all properties in an environment that reflects a high standard of cleanliness. Essential functions include, but are not limited to:
• Clean corridors, lobbies, stairways, elevators, break rooms, offices, bathrooms, and other areas
• Organize work schedule from the duty list and areas in use
• Restock supplies such as drinking glasses, soap, hand towels, toilet paper, and other items as needed
• Check all appliances in kitchen areas to ensure they are in working order
• Realign furniture according to prescribed layout
• Ensure confidentiality and security of areas
• Follow all company safety and security procedure
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards
• Observe and report damage of CHNK property

• Maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition
• Sweep, scrub, mop and polish floors
• Vacuum clean carpets, rugs and draperies
• Shampoo carpets, rugs and upholstery
• Dust and polish furniture and fittings
• Clean metal fixtures and fittings
• Empty and clean trash containers
• Dispose of trash in a sanitary manner
• Wash windows as scheduled

Physical demands and work environment:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, kneel, squat, and hold objects or carry.
• The employee must occasionally lift, push, pull or move up to 35 pounds., including the ability to fill
• move, and drain commercial mop bucket.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• The environment consists of indoor and outdoor activities with different temperatures.
• Cleaning and using cleaning materials, including chemicals are a demand of this position.

Work schedule is Monday through Friday (may substitute Sunday for Friday at times), with an occasional weekend day or holiday possible. Full time - 40 hours.

Flexibility in schedule may be needed, typical schedule would be 2 - 10 or 3 - 11.
