Job Summary:
The Handyman is responsible for keeping the kitchen facility and equipment in a safe, clean and secure condition. This includes maintaining and repairing facility fixtures, equipment, and coordinating with professional trades as necessary.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Maintain & repair all delivery equipment such as transport cabinets, generators, lift gates, & sealing machines
- Consult & Advise on vehicle repairs as needed for daily delivery issues
- Coordinate and assist with infrastructure and special projects
- Assist in asset inventory
Additional Functions and Responsibilities:
- Work with Logistics Manager/back up driver dropping off and picking up trucks from service
- Perform ongoing maintenance, including painting, power washing, and cosmetic upgrades.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and plumbing problems.
- Clean up after work to ensure a tidy and safe environment.
- Inspect and plan upgrades and minor building projects, including drywall, roofs, and woodwork.
- Respond to emergencies quickly.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical, auto and plumbing
- Basic computer literacy
- Strong work ethic
- Self-motivated, detail oriented, flexible and dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude. Must have the ability to work as a team, as well as, independently.
- Multi-tasking and task prioritization is a must.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and quickly solve issues
- Ability to think creatively, exercise independent judgment, identifies problems, make decisions and resolve issues both of a routine and unique nature. Must communicate these to the team in a professional, concise business format.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to maintain Valid Driver’s License, with a safe driving record. Must meet Choicelunch insurance requirements.
- Ability to pass a background and drug test
Physical demands and work environment:
- Physical demands: while performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands & arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs & safely move HFB’s which way upwards for 350 lbs & safely operate lift gate. Specific vision abilities required by the job require close & distance vision, color vision, depth perception, & the ability to adjust focus.
- Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time, and on occasion may be exposed to cold temperatures in the walk-in refrigerator. The noise level is usually moderate.
