JOB TITLE: Clinical Supervisor

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Emergency Mobile Psychiatric Service (EMPS)
Youth mobile crisis program providing phone triage support and in-person mobile crisis assessment and intervention in homes, schools, and other community-based settings. EMPS offers support to youth, aged 0 to 17 or 18 if still in high school, and their caregivers during times of emotional, behavioral, or situational distress. EMPS is a program with a focus on prevention, early intervention, and crisis stabilization.
OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
Works with supervisor to oversee operations of program. Provides clinical consultation, case planning, coordination and general supervision to the staff. Responsible for an assigned caseload when applicable. Works directly as primary clinician, in the office and the community, with assigned clients who experience symptoms of major mental illness and/or severe emotional disorders.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directs crisis intervention efforts and intervenes as required.
- Insures clients receive treatment services that are focused on presenting problem and clients request for service. Monitors client meetings, admission, continued stay and discharge criteria.
- Provides clinical direction and leadership within the Team.
- Evaluates staff and initiates and follow through on progressive discipline, if needed.
- Insures timely completion of reports and data on performance indicators, DMHAS/DCF standards, program enrollment, incident/accidents, etc.
- Oversees completion of chart audits and ensures needed documentation.
- Ensures completion of insurance authorization for services rendered as necessary.
- Participates in hiring staff.
- Reviews caseloads regularly to ensure appropriate utilization of services.
- Provide on- site coverage for other programs when needed
- Provides marketing, training, and case consultation.
- On call coverage during and after program hours as assigned.
- Ensures proper maintenance of vehicles/if applicable.
- Participates in committees to improve agency service delivery and quality improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
In-depth clinical skill and knowledge in the following:
- Expert knowledge of assessment, diagnosis and treatment for assigned population; risk assessment, crisis management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational and planning skills.
- Demonstrates competency in age related or specialty issues and developmental needs for each population served.
Education: Master’s in mental health related field.
Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a clinician, and 2 years of clinical supervisory experience in a clinical mental health setting.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: LCSW, LPC, LMFT required
Training: Experience in related Evidence Based Practice preferred.
