POSITION SUMMARY
The Employee Health and Safety Manager will provide support and development of an employee health program within Christ Community Health Services to support COVID-19 and employee health management. This position is responsible for the development and administration of occupational health services in accordance with company policies, practices, procedures, and applicable regulations to achieve the desired goals and objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee and manage the administrative and operational activities of occupational health services
• Establishes protocols specially related to COVID-19 testing and returning employees to work within established guidelines by medically approved protocols
• Follow exposure control plan and recommend changes to protocols consistent with CDC and OSHA guidelines
• Create processes to minimize risks for COVID-19 infection in the environment
• Serve as an active member on infection control committee providing guidance on OSHA and employee health related matters
• Provide OSHA and compliance education for staff
• Incident and OSHA reporting management
• Manages and maintains employee health records including, TB, Fit for Duty and Clinical Competence
• Assure compliance with regulatory requirements including, but not limited to, HRSA, OSHA/TOSHA, Tennessee Department of Health, other applicable licensing and accrediting standards related to employee health and safety, fitness for duty and related duties. Reports incidents to applicable agencies and provides follow-up as indicated.
• Implements employee safety programs as indicated to minimize risks.
• Collaborates with Chief Nursing Office and Chief Clinical Officer for guidance as needed
• Processes workers’ compensation, short- and long-term disability cases
• Assess healthcare needs, then implement and manage healthcare programs to improve health and facilitate return to work, maintain OSHA records/ reports and worker medical files
• Assist departments with identifying, evaluating, and implementing accommodations and return to work options for workers with restricted duty
Requirements
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelors degree required. Masters degree preferred.
Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a RN
• Experience in occupational/employee health required
• Experience in community health care preferred
• Experienced in data management and reporting
• Experience in managing health records and data files
• Working knowledge of basic medical terms
• Knowledge of and use Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
Licenses or Certifications: RN Required
Shift: Monday thru Friday
Travel: Ability to travel to multiple CCHS health clinic locations within Shelby County daily and in East Jackson as needed.
