Christ Church Media (CCM)
The Church and PreSchool campus is located at 311 S Orange St in Media, PA. The original church was constructed in 1854 and now includes St Joseph, St Mary and a Rectory. The first floors of St
Joseph and St Mary are dedicated to the PreSchool, the second floors are shared with the Church community. In addition to Church and PreSchool activities, the campus hosts a variety of other religious and secular activities.
Christ Church Media (CCM) is seeking to hire a sexton to work with the PreSchool Director and the
Church Administrator to provide property maintenance and security.
This position requires a general familiarity with building systems and physical operations, ability to respond to emergency calls, ability to communicate effectively with vendors and contractors, and the ability to communicate with and respond to general requests from the CCM community.
This individual must be able to make sound and efficient decisions in responding to people’s needs and requests.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Understanding basic operations of all building systems
- Checking systems regularly to ensure proper operations.
- Coordinating with contractors for maintenance and repairs as needed
- Checking campus’ general physical condition weekly including parking areas, playground and general grounds
- Providing staff presence for evening or weekend events
- Receiving and responding to calls from alarm/security monitoring service
- Minor maintenance and repairs such as changing light bulbs, sorting closets and storage areas, hanging pictures/posters, and the like.
- Running occasional errands
NOTE: CCM contracts with a janitorial company for cleaning; this company is overseen by the
PreSchool Director and Church Administrator.
Hours:
Variable. Minimum 15 hours per week.
Compensation:

Hourly wage based on experience with six-month review
Reporting:
This position reports directly to the Parish Administrator.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Genuine appreciation for faith-based, not-for-profit work
- High school degree
- Satisfactory background check required.
- General working knowledge of building systems
- Simple “handyman” skills
- Schedule flexibility
- Ability to work productively without direct supervision
- Attention to detail and problem solving skills
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
