Description
Position Summary:
This position will serve as the lead for Christensen Arms accounting function with responsibility to produce the firms financial statements, internal and external reporting packages, budgets, cost center reports, supporting schedules, the general ledger, trial balance, and account reconciliations. This position reports to the Senior Controller, who has oversight for this position as well as responsibility for the companys costing and FP&A functions, this role will have significant interface to the CFO and Christensen Arms senior leadership team.
This is an excellent role to advance ones financial career as the role will entail specific projects and analyses which will contribute to the firms overall financial goals; which include doubling in size over the next three years. The CFO is keen to implement a succession plan which advances the key direct reporting financial positions. Additionally, the role will be relied upon to extract data and key analyses using the firms ERP system as well contributing to further develop the firms metrics.
Location: Gunnison, Utah
Rate: $90,000 - $100,000 depending on experience
Responsibilities
- Produce Company financial statements and reporting packages submitted to Christensen Arms senior leadership team, Private Equity Owners, and Lenders
- Develop specific financial analyses, performance metrics, and interpret what they mean helping to improve the firms bottom line and balance sheet performance.
- Investigate variances in actual vs planed performance and prepare presentations for the senior leadership team improve understanding and execution.
- Contribute to developing accounting policies and procedures to help improve business processes.
- Help draft month end report packages
- Assure propriety of the accounting data, trial balance, and account reconciliations.
- Key lead in developing budgets and cost center reporting
- Produce the firms financial / debt compliance certificates
- Supervise the A/R, A/P functions (a direct report to this position)
- Assure sales and use taxes are properly filed (not directly responsible, but supervises outside service provider)
- Serve as a significant lead in the companys financial audit
- Contribute to companys risk management program analysis and selection
- Assist in developing internal Controls and accounting procedures
- Assist with Specific costing and analytical projects, supporting the Senior Controller and CFO.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- BS Accounting and experience as a controller or assistant controller, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- CPA preferred
- Strong Microsoft Suite skills including Excel and Power Point
- Familiarity with Tableau Software
- Familiarity with SQL or structured data tables
- Strong experience with an ERP platform, preferably a known software e.g. INFOR, SAP, Oracle, Net Suite or the like.
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills and experience in leading presentations to a senior audience
- Experience in working to some extent in cross functional teams
