CBS is looking for a PMO Director with experience running business-critical, multi-year ITS and business transformational projects and programs. The PMO Director will manage programs with multiple projects and bring a structured approach to portfolio project management. This person will also help CBS consistently deliver projects on time and on budget with a focus on deliverable quality. Experience running projects in healthcare and insurance as well as Big 4 consulting experience is a plus.
Position Responsibilities:
- Builds and manages the enterprise project/program management office/function for the company. Has responsibility for driving prioritization of project portfolio, standardizing planning and execution of projects, providing guidance on practice and application of project management, and ensuring successful on-time and on-budget execution of projects and programs consistent with project objectives and the company’s strategic plan.
- Defines and develops enterprise-wide project/program management practices, governance standards, processes and metrics.
- Convenes regular review meetings, steerco meetings to report on status, track and assess project portfolios with CBS leadership, senior management, project sponsors and other stakeholders.
- Conducts individual project reviews, on a regular basis, to assess overall project quality and compliance with divisional processes and procedures to ensure projects are being completed on-time and on-budget.
- Maintain and publish project dashboards for all projects on a regular basis. Assist the CIO and company leadership to resolve project and program issues.
- Ensures projects/programs are defined, tracked and communicated in a consistent and effective manner. Incorporates effective change and risk management controls. Partners with IT, business leadership, executives and other key stakeholders to prioritize project intake and execution based on predefined criteria such as return on investment, productivity and compliance.
- Provides organization-wide development and integration of consistent project management standards, best practices, and methodologies, identifies commonalities and economies of scale across projects – enterprise-wide.
- Develops and manages staff utilization process to ensure staff resources are fairly and evenly distributed. Ensures staff is not over- or under-utilized across projects.
- Oversees vendor management and contract management.
- Manages project finances and tracks actuals vs estimated project budget.
- Produce resourced projects schedule gathering input from ITS Leaders on project schedule. Identify potential and actual resource and/or system conflicts. Identify and work with project managers, ITS and business leads on resolution.
- Provide input to the CIO during annual budgeting and planning process.
- Ensures all projects within portfolios/programs are delivered on time, within budget, with superior quality.
- Drives adoption of project management tools, policies, processes and methodologies.
- Acts as a primary liaison with management and subject matter experts. Fosters positive relationships with divisional stakeholders and ensures appropriate resource allocation across ITS and business projects.
