We are seeking individuals to fulfill the role of Dining Services Cook in a FT, PT and/or as-needed (PRN) capacity. Dining Services Cooks perform a variety of non-certified tasks to support the needs of our communities overall, to include preparing and serving quality food, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, community policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the leadership team. All to assure that quality food services are provided at all times.
The basics of this position (Essential Functions):
- Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing and in accordance with portion control procedures as well as therapeutic diets in accordance with scheduled menus and sanitary regulations
- Review menus prior to preparation of food and inspect special dietary trays to assure accurate preparation
- Make prompt and accurate judgments related to resident meals and food service
- Recognize and respond to dietary emergencies and report observations
- Participate in ongoing educational programs related to the job; complete required courses as assigned
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident and organization information
- Assist in and/or direct scheduled cleaning duties and defrost freezers. Comply with safety and sanitation policies and procedures
- Establish and encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth, and interest in residents; activity preferences and needs
