Children’s Director (K-5th grade) - Lake Oconee Church

We Recruit Well is searching for a Children’s Director (Kindergarten - 5th grade) at Lake Oconee Church in Greensboro, GA.

The ideal candidate is professional, outgoing, and energetic — excited about mentoring leaders so together you can influence the hearts of families.

In this position, you will partner with parents to inspire children to follow Jesus by leading teams to implement clean, safe, fun, engaging, and helpful large and small group environments for kindergarten through 5th grades.

Adaptability, low-drama, high-trust, hard work, and excellence are key.

Hours: Full-time position working Sunday through Thursday; Monday is remote

Duties and responsibilities

• Create and champion a fun, clean, and safe elementary environment
• Be the face of the environment for children and their parents/grandparents
• Be a leader of leaders through recruiting, modeling, teaching, evaluating, and coaching
• Coach volunteers to grow and develop their strengths by providing direction, feedback, and opportunities
• Communicate and cast vision for Sunday mornings and special events to the teams
• Recruit, manage, schedule, and nurture volunteers on a quarterly basis
• Ensure the ministry functions within established safety protocols and procedures
• Facilitate guest cards and birthday cards
• Actively direct the Sunday experience
• Manage the budget for the department
• Oversee the organization and maintain the excellence of elementary spaces, including signage, props, equipment, and storage
• Work with the Family Ministry Director weekly to synergize efforts, proposals, and calendars
• Participate in team meetings and partner church calls, conferences, training resources, and visits
• Lean into partner church contacts for areas that are not your zone of genius
• Provide all publicly distributed materials through the church office for processing
• Complete other responsibilities as assigned
