We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Dining Services Director at The Vista a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located in Wyckoff, New Jersey. The Vista offers 161 finely detailed apartment homes with views of the Ramapo Mountains on the Christian Health campus. The Vista has multiple culinary options to include café style, fine dining and catering events. The Director Dining Services will be responsible for planning, organizing, delegating and directing all aspects of the dining meal services.

Schedule: Full-time (5) days per week. Weekend rotation required. Holiday’s as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's degree in hospitality or other related field required.

• Oversees all resident related dining service functions. Display a physical presence at meals in all dining areas.
• Oversees the dining services employees daily to promote the expeditious flow of work through the Vista dining services department.
• Makes daily rounds to assure dining services personnel are performing required duties and to assure that appropriate dining services procedures are being executed to meet the needs of the community.
• Identify and implement strategies to enhance the dining experience for those we serve.
• Supervises, schedules, evaluates and develops all dining staff.
• Ensures proper portioning of food, attractive plate presentation, and service standard.
• Continually inspect and analyze Dining Service operations to determine improvements that will result in enhanced product quality, safety and community member satisfaction.
• Maintain effective communications within the department holding daily meetings with the dining management team.
• Implements an effective waiter-training program and provides training to all new employees. 
• Oversee an effective recruiting program aimed at attracting high quality full and part-time Dining Services team members. 
• Visits residents periodically to evaluate excellence of meals served.
• Interact with Vista residents for their feedback and satisfaction with their dining experience. 
• Meets regularly with the Resident Council Dining Service Committee.  Address their concerns and maintain high level of resident satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum five years dining leadership experience in a senior care industry, preferably in a CCRC or fine dining venue. 
• ServSafe certification required.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong customer focus to provide quality customer service.
• Ability to consistently and positively contribute in a fast-paced changing work environment as well as the ability to prioritize multiple functions and tasks and manage work time efficiently.
• Ability to motivate and inspire employees to work together.
