What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiology Technologist - Part-Time position at Christie Clinic?
Christie Clinic's department of Radiology is seeking a part-time Radiology Technologist at the Main Clinic. Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 5:30pm. Duties include the operation of radiological equipment to make clinical diagnoses. Current certification (ARRT) with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists is required. Must possess a state license through the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety. One year of experience as a radiological technologist preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patient with eye contact and smile
- Verify correct patient by using patient identifiers
- Verify correct ordering provider and ordered exam
- Prepare patient for exam i.e. change into gown as necessary, remove jewelry, and any other items that may cause artifact on images
- Position patients and adjust equipment for taking X-rays following established procedures.
- Instruct patients regarding procedures.
- Follow prescribed safety standards in operating radiological equipment.
- Select length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on individual patient basis.
- Examine radiological images proper positioning, coning, exposure, and artifacts.
- Maintain examination rooms and stock necessary medical and radiological supplies.
- Clean and make minor adjustments to radiological equipment.
- Aid provider in contrast studies unless specially trained to begin injection when Radiologist is present in department.
- Navigate and record accurate data in an electronic medical record and RIS/PACS systems.
- Release patient and ensure they are aware of their next appointment.
