We work collaboratively to support our partners in every market and region we serve around the world.   This is a fully qualified engineering level position and may include temporary direct and sustained supervision of others, including other professional engineers, in a multi-disciplinary environment.  This level may also indicate a full engineering specialization as a subject matter expert, with ongoing transfer of knowledge to colleagues and/or more junior staff.  (Individuals with 8 years’ experience within Christie Digital plus a College diploma may be considered).    This is an onsite position in Cypress, California.    Responsibilities:   This position requires the application of mature engineering principles and knowledge in planning, evaluating and conducting projects that involve the design, development and testing of more complicated processes & methods of larger projects. Recognized for advanced expertise within area of specialization. The expectation is that experience and knowledge will be used to create innovative solutions for applied problems.  Acts as a mentor to team members and contributes to the development of new or improved company standards and guidelines. Project Lead:  plans, manages and conducts Engineering projects, i.e. outlines project requirements, constraints, objectives,  methods and equipment used. Schedules and assigns tasks and supervises progress, at times serving as a team leader. Makes independent studies, analyses, interpretations and conclusions. Coordinates efforts at all levels with other operating or engineering disciplines to facilitate participation of appropriate staff in project completion. Recommendation or responsibility for selection, training, performance management and retention of more junior engineers, technicians or non-professional staff. Subject Matter Expert:  Solves problems by modifying existing established guidelines, devising new approaches, applying existing criteria in new manners and drawing conclusions from comparative studies. Whether you are working with the leading minds in the industry on high-profile projects, with internal teams to support continuous improvement, or with our customers to inspire and delight – your contributions will have an influence.    The experience and skills we value:    Bachelor’s degree in engineering or applied sciences preferred, however, relevant years of industry experience will be considered.  8-10 years relevant experience in a manufacturing specialization role.   What will put you ahead:   Specific skills will vary between roles: Capable of using test, measurement, production, manufacturing and laboratory equipment relevant to discipline.        Basic concept of design for assembly & test. Understanding of basic principles, mechanical / electrical. Basic understanding of GD&T. Basic skills/training in presentation, report writing. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent written English skills. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving. Organizational Skills.   WORKPLACE GUIDELINES:   Occasional:   Standing, Bending, Pushing/Pulling Light Lifting (up to 25 lbs.), Moderate (25-50 lbs.) to Heavy (50 lbs. ) Reaching above shoulder level Travel (ex. Noise Volume etc.)   Frequent:   Reading and Writing Ability to Comprehend Sitting and using finger movements Communicating orally Handling objects (manual dexterity) Reason and analyze. Perform calculations.
