Christopher’s Haven is a home for children and their families while they seek cancer treatment. Our home is more than a place to stay, it’s a support system to help with things large and small. We are a community where families can gather to share a laugh, be comforted, and comfort others.


Christopher’s Haven has an immediate opening for a Family Service Manager, who directly reports to the Managing Director. We are looking for someone who embodies love, dignity, respect, and empathy. Our Family Service Manager is a family’s touchstone and someone we want them to be able to count on, as they will be the first and last people that our families encounter. While interacting with our families is prominent, the role also works closely with donors, volunteers, and stakeholders. The successful candidate will be eager to convey the impact of what we do while understanding and supporting an efficient, effective organization.


Duties and Responsibilities Include but are Not Limited To

  1. Apartment Management and Upkeep

o Manage nine apartments by maintaining upkeep, livability, and comfort

o Prepare apartments for incoming families

o Sustain the quality and upkeep of the community space

  1. Family Connection and Support
  • Support our families with ongoing programming and activities
  • Help host gatherings and events in the community space
  • Organize and execute the on-boarding/off-boarding process and scheduling of family stays
  • Be available to Families as needed for support
  1. Administrative Duties
  • Data entry and coordinating the scheduling and mailing of fundraising appeals
  • Coordinate activities with volunteers and other partnered non-for-profits
  • Work with the team to establish and/or execute communications systems to maximize effectiveness, i.e., Donor Perfect and Constant Contact
  • Assist with plans for fundraising and outreach events, i.e, Spring Fundraising Event and Cape Cod Bay Challenge
  • Collaborate with our PR Firm and Managing Director to gather program-related content and statistics for newsletters


Qualifications

A successful candidate will be excited about working as an integral member of a small, collaborative team. They will also be creative, self–motivated, and dependable. They must be able to navigate a fast-paced environment.

Experience

  • History of working with children and families (Required)
  • Non-Profit Experience (Preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – especially Excel (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of different social media platforms (Preferred)
  • Knowledge with Donor Perfect and Constant Contact (Preferred)
  • Event Planning Experience (Preferred)

Additional Information

  • This position offers some flexibility regarding the workday hours
  • This position requires evening hours during various programs and events
  • This position is full-time and in-person
  • Applicant must live in the Boston area
