POSITION OVERVIEW
The Lead Chemical Operator operates equipment or semiautomatic system that processes chemicals into specified products. Able to operate all equipment in all work cells. Intermittent travel is required, up to 10%
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Supervision – oversees the operation of their shift and subordinates. Maintains the schedule and verifies production plan tracker for their shift.
· Maintains safety and housekeeping standards as directed
· Proactive involvement in development of new company policies and procedures
· Knowledge of all production areas of operating equipment through on the job training and hands on experience
· Knowledge of scales and measuring systems
· Interact with QC lab and R&D
· Build production batches
o Read, follow, Fill out and maintain batch paperwork
o load and offload chemicals
o Operate pumps and filters
o Monitor temps and run speeds
· Maintain work area for housekeeping, safety and 6S
· Trouble shoot basic equipment to determine problems, put in work orders for repairs
· Basic knowledge of chemical composition, structure, and properties including danger signs, production techniques and disposal methods
· Knowledge of previous batches to the point of recognizing run sheet and material issue errors
· Training of other employees in the production area
· Interact with customer service and production planning as required
· Determine causes of operating errors and implementing actions to eliminate reoccurrences
· Continually provides supervision, developing, counseling, training, assigning, and disciplining direct reports as needed or instructed
· Work with team to achieve KPIs
· Develop members of the team on their shift for advancement
· All other duties, as assigned
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
o High School diploma or GED
o 5 years of similar production related experience (preferred)
o ERP experience (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
o Capable of working independently to manage day-to-day tasks
o Advanced user type understanding of the Microsoft Office 365 & Suites: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
o Familiarity with an ERP solution (i.e. SAP, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics ERP, etc.)
o Creativity in approaching complex challenges and problems

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
