Chubb Systems now has an opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor across London. The main goal of this role is supplement the existing members of the Quantity Surveying and commercial team and will work across all business projects to ensure the that the senior leadership have correct, coordinated, complete and concise commercial information to support their decision making
Job Description
Working across a portfolio of Security and Fire projects, the main responsibilities for the role will be to report to the Senior Quantity Surveyor on the following matters:
· In conjunction with the project team(s), prepare and issue of contractual letters to customers, subcontractors and suppliers
· Valuation and negotiation of variations.
· compliance with and assistance in helping promote the Health and Safety policy.
· Provide support to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Managing Quantity Surveyor.
· Provide support and where appropriate mentoring to Graduate and other Quantity Surveyors.
· Contribution to the delivery of all confirmed project tasks and goals.
· Compliance with all company procedures and protocols.
· Assistance with the procurement of Sub-Contractors; Consultants and Suppliers.
· Contribution to the analysis of Sub-Contractors; Consultants and Suppliers tender returns.
· Assistance with and where appropriate the preparation of Orders with Sub-Contractors, Consultants and Suppliers and attend meetings when possible.
· In accordance with company contractual arrangements, authorise payments in respect of interim and final applications for payment from Sub-Contractors, Consultants and Suppliers. Monthly payment assessment, of the commercial progress of Subcontractor(s), Consultant(s) and Supplier(s), including the issuance of appropriate Payment Certificates, Payless Notices, etc
· Preparation, co-ordination and processing labour only payments.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will posses:
- Good working knowledge of forms of contract currently used within the Building, Civil Engineering and Building Services industry, including experience of the JCT standard suite of Contracts and the NEC 2 and 3 suites of contracts is essential.
- Of graduate caliber; with a BSc (Hons) In Quantity Surveying and/ or BSc (Hons) Commercial Management (or equivalent)
- Good working knowledge of standard forms of measurement, including SMM7 and NRM 1&2.
- Full Driving License essential.
