Commercial Marketplace group at Chubb is seeking a talented and experienced Information Technology professional to join the application development team in a platform lead role, who can combine the technical expertise with industry best practices to develop IT systems.
This position requires an extensive background in building technology platforms and managing software development teams in technical capacity. This position will be responsible to lead development team that develop and maintain applications that are on emerging technologies. We're looking for a talented individual who has experience in building large scale software systems and is passionate about technology.
Scope/Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership to Marketplace platform team across multiple business and technology initiatives.
Lead team(s) of world-class software engineers and make the right design decisions and technology choices.
Leads and develops Cloud-based systems and digital transformation initiatives as appropriate and in line with both business and technology vision and needs
Offers innovative out-of-the-box thought leadership. This candidate should be confident in the ability to understand business objectives/goals, flexible enough to manage change fluently.
Partner with Enterprise IT teams, Architecture, Product development teams across business units, Cloud Engineering, Dev/Ops, Security teams to build platform capabilities.
Develop and implement best-in-class processes, metrics and practices.
Establish and build relationships and partnerships across business, technology and operational lines.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field.
The ideal candidate will come from a complex multinational organization.
Strong software engineering background and experience leading engineering teams required.
Minimum of 15 years enterprise IT application experience that includes at least 5 years of hands-on software development.
Working Experience in Cloud technologies, Azure is required.
5 years of hands on technical / coding experience in Microsoft technology stack, C#, .Net Core, Web API, Microservices, Containers etc.
5 years of web development experience in building reusable widgets, Single Page application experience – Angular required.
Experience designing and developing REST APIs using microservices architecture.
Experience in P&C Insurance is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to dive deep into code, establishing technical roadmaps, partnering with the business to understand requirements, and communicating with senior leadership.
Solid problem solving and decision-making skills, good listener and open to different points of view.
Highly detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to embrace change without frustration.
Excellent written/verbal/presentation skills; ability to effectively communicate across all levels is required.
