Church Planting and Renewal is called and focused on the life cycle of churches in our denomination. From planting new churches, assisting in their growth, and even helping churches end well. Church Planting and Renewal is to help facilitate growth and renewal among the churches across the Original Free Will Baptist Denomination.

Director of Church Planting and Renewal

Purpose: The director of CPR will lead members of the Convention of OFWB to plant new churches, help facilitate church renewal among its member churches, and compassionately assist member churches who choose to cease operations.

Organization Background: Church Planting and Renewal (CPR) is a ministry of the Convention of Original Free Will Baptist Church. It was organized at the 2019 Convention of Original Free Will Baptists. Church Planting and Renewal was given the task of promoting church planting within the United States. They are to plant new churches in areas that have potential for success. They are also to encourage church growth, renewal and outreach within the existing Original Free Will Baptist Churches. Church Planting and Renewal shall have the right and responsibility to promote this ministry, raise funds and supervise the disbursement of these funds.

Church Planting and Renewal is seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Director for Church Renewal to our existing Original Free Will Baptist Churches.

Job Responsibilities:

The person who serves in this role will lead our Church Planting and Church Revitalization endeavors. They will work with our Churches, Conferences / Associations, pastors, and lay leaders to identify, assess, train, send new Church Planters and to aid in supporting and giving resources to help churches in the renewal process.

- Identify, assess, evaluate, train, and coach church planters. Launch churches for growth and impact.

- To help churches and pastors aid in the revitalization efforts in a church’s life cycle.

- To visit OFWB churches and pastors to worship with them and be present across the denomination.

- To represent the CPR ministry when invited to the OFWB Churches and Ministries to share information about the CPR Ministry and how CPR can help their churches and ministries.

- To continue personal growth and knowledge of church planting and revitalization strategies.

- To maintain a database of our existing Original Free Will Baptist Churches that are visited.

- To maintain the financial records of the CPR Ministry and present them to the CPR Board.

- To serve as Treasurer for the CPR Board.

- To help create an annual budget for the CPR Ministry alongside the CPR Board.

- To send out information across the OFWB denomination about opportunities for ministry, training, and events.

- To oversee the social media efforts of the CPR Ministry.

- To oversee the Biker Prison Ministries, in collaboration with its Director, and aid in the ministry needs.

- To oversee and help lead the Hispanic Ministry endeavors and work with the Hispanic Ministry Director and its pastors and churches.

- And other potential duties as directed by the CPR Board.

Qualifications:

- Be a mature Christ follower; theologically aligned with the Articles of Faith and Principles of Church Government for Original Free Will Baptists.

- Undergraduate degree required, prefer some Seminary training, business training, leadership training, church planting training, and church renewal training.

- Has a minimum of 10 years of ministerial experience.

- Has experience and working knowledge of the church planting movement. Active involvement in church planting is a plus.

- Has a track record of successful leadership in building and developing others for growth.

- Experienced in building relationships with partners and networks.

- Has evidence of fostering teamwork and collaboration.

- Displays strong interpersonal skills.

- Displays personal drive and the ability to execute.

- Strong leadership gifts include vision casting, relationship building, and organization, as well as a passion for church planting, evangelism, and sharing the Gospel.

- Role-models organization, is accountable to others, has a disciplined life, sets high standards, and supports those standards in lifestyle.

- Capable of analyzing multiple situations, desires to seek input from others, and can propose courses of action.

Relationship to the CPR Board:

- The director shall be employed by the Church Planting and Renewal Board.

- The director is responsible to the Church Planting and Renewal Board for the management of the ministry’s affairs. The director does not have power or authority individually.

- The director, with the cooperation of the board, will operate according to the established by-laws of CPR.

- The director is responsible for using a comprehensive strategic plan that has been developed in conjunction with the board.

- The director will provide the board with relevant information before board meetings and be able to explain why this information is coming to the attention of the board. Strive to engage the board in dialogue among themselves that leads to consensus-building.

- The director is responsible for making quarterly and annual reports to the Board and ensuring adequate records are maintained.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
