OVERVIEW/ WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The Buyer position is multi-faceted, extremely fast paced, and provides an opportunity to work in a team environment. The Buyer is responsible for purchasing materials, supplies and equipment for the company at the best price and for delivery at the most optimal time.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain optimal inventory levels by applying generally accepted inventory management techniques.
- Process purchase orders and change orders in a timely manner.
- Review supplier order acknowledgments and update PO pricing and delivery dates accordingly
- Assist Purchasing Agents with creation of purchase orders.
- Conduct warehouse stock checks.
- Assist the expeditors and receiving department to accurately receive purchase orders in the ERP system.
- Understand “units of measure” and determine how to purchase per the appropriate unit of measure.
- Review and approve pricing and freight quotes from suppliers.
- Work with suppliers to return excess or non-conformant material.
- Grow professional relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Meet deadlines for PO’s, quotes, submittals and delivery dates.
- Review vendor performance.
- Examine AP invoices and job cost reports for inconsistencies, such as mischarges.
- Ensure that tasks are carried out properly and within standards that support ISO 9001:2015 and our Quality Management System.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Associate’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field or, high school diploma/GED and at least three (3) years’ experience working in a similar role.
- Three (3) years of experience using an enterprise resource planning system.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Knowledge of electrical systems and components.
- Strong in math and deductive reasoning.
- Able to communicate ideas and instructions clearly.
- Able to work well with others.
- Organized and thorough
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The Buyer spends most of their time in an office environment, but will occasionally be required to visit vendors and work in a warehouse environment. The office is an open and collaborative space where work is performed both independently and with the team. When at the warehouse, work is performed in a more traditional warehouse environment, with higher noise levels and frequent movement of people and equipment.
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
This position reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager and/or the Sourcing Manager
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to verbally communicate: convey detailed and accurate instructions and information.
- Ability to hear with or without correction in order to receive and interpret detailed information.
- Required to sit at a desk work station for long periods of time.
- Occasionally push, pull, lift, move, carry up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally required to walk and stand.
- Required to have visual acuity with or without correction in order to read documents, analyze data, and view a computer monitor.
- Required to use fingers and hands: type using a computer keyboard, handle, feel, and reach.
- May occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch.
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
This position reports directly to the Purchasing Manager.

Construction Innovations facilities offices are located in Sacramento, CA and Mather, CA.
COMPENSATION:
Construction Innovations pays hourly/salary rates commensurate with each employee’s knowledge, experience and skill level
