Job Responsibilities
- Direct day to day supervision of Payroll functions and staff.
- Implement, maintain, review payroll processing of all payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, and other deductions.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, layoffs and change in pay rates.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of all reports and payroll transactions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll requirements.
- Supervision of timesheet approvals for 500 employees.
- Oversight of 401K-programs including year-end compliance and audit.
- Prevailing Wage/Certified Payroll compliance and reporting.
- HSA Accounts compliance and reporting.
- Reimbursements/per diem/mileage reports-review and entry.
- Knowledge of OCIP Programs and reporting.
- Identify and recommend software updates to payroll processing systems and procedures.
- Assist with interim and year-end audits conducted by our CPA firm.
- Knowledge of Payroll Quarterly Tax Filing.
- Maintain the WC/GL codes in Sage.
- Support team building, training and issue resolution with staff. Involve Human Resources in any performance or disciplinary issues.
- Support Sage 300/Paycom system updates.
- Participate in special projects and other duties as required.
Qualifications/ Requirements
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Accounting or Business; or five years of related experience required.
- Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
- Sage 300, Paycom or other accounting and payroll software experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to problem solve.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
