1.0 ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION
Reports To: Director of IT Department: Information Technology (IT)
Location: Odessa, TX

2.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Field Technician assumes responsibility for providing technical services related to installation,
troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of CIG Proprietary equipment while maintaining effective
communications with fellow team members and clients. The Field Technician must perform his duties to assure
the safety of himself and those around him and ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the work area. The duties
and responsibilities of the Field Technician include, but are not limited to the following:
- Travels onsite to complete service work and weekly preventative maintenance requirements for
Sandstorm products.
- Inspects, investigates, and troubleshoots equipment for quality control and improvements.
- Reads and understands P&ID drawings, electrical schematics, mechanical schematics, and technical,
operational manuals.
- Continuously rig up and rig down IT Field equipment at the start and end of each Wellsite job.
- Works and communicates safely and effectively with field operations, fellow employees, and contractors.
- Completes and starts up new installations of IT Sandstorm products in the field.
- Manages and maintains appropriate stock levels of inventory and tools.
- Secures appropriate parts and supplies through a designated procurement system.
- Ensures all appropriate records are maintained, such as inventories of parts, equipment, tools, work
orders, timesheets, etc.
- Provides onsite and remote technical support to necessary persons (customers, manufacturers,
distributors, etc.) for product installs, troubleshooting, and training.
- Uses and adapts computer programs to retrieve and analyze data.
- Available for 24-hour on-call duty and subject to callouts and travel time for work associated with field
operations and/or emergency response.
- Willingness to travel.
- Maintains cleanliness of the work area and company vehicle and equipment.
- Proactively responds and adapts to the work environment to meet the highest standards.
- Prioritizes and coordinates work activities to complete jobs individually and as a team.
- Expresses ideas clearly in written and oral communication with team members and management to
complete various jobs.
- Always understands and utilizes safety procedures and safety equipment.
FIELD TECHNICIAN
JOB DESCRIPTION

3.1 EDUCATION AND TRAINING
- Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record to operate a company vehicle.
- High School Diploma Required, or equivalent.
3.2 EXPERIENCE
- Technical degree or a minimum of 2 years work experience related to Automation, Instrumentation, or
Electrical.
- Oil Field experience plus
3.3 KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Excellent customer support and troubleshooting skills.
- Prior experience/familiarity with basic hand and power tools and electrical meters.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Possess aptitudes to learn the basics of Networking, Electrical, and all parts associated with automation of
Sandstorm IT equipment.
- Able to read and comprehend technical, operational manuals, do load studies and related calculations.
- Ability to apply a basic understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions, operations, and
duties.
- Ability to apply sound judgment and reasoning when dealing with any problem.
- Ability to apply moderate knowledge of computers and office equipment.
4.0 PHYSICAL AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
- Must be able to walk, sit, stand, climb, twist/turn, push/pull, squat, crawl/kneel, reach above the shoulder.
- Must be able to perform repetitive hand/wrist/arm movements.
- Average close/distance vision necessary to record data and operate the equipment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and be understood by others.
- Must be able to hear the various equipment to diagnose issues.
