In this newly created function within the Evernorth Chief Operating Office, this role will be responsible for providing leadership and management of people, processes, and programs in support of critical operations and program activities across the organization, as well as liaise between Evernorth Technology, Cigna Information Protection (CIP) and the Global Infrastructure and Operations (GI&O) Organization. The role will help bring forward the operating mechanics and culture to the Evernorth technology team including but not limited to; Monthly operating reviews, vulnerability management, audit findings, server and database patching, penetration testing and digital security.
A key responsibility of this new role is acting as a connector between Evernorth and supporting organizations (CIP & GI&O) to ensure there is a central point of contact within the Evernorth Technology team to strategize, operationalize and run security programs at every level of the organization. This role will be directly responsible for strengthening & maintaining security across the entire team as well as driving remediation and remediation plans within Evernorth technology.
Examples of focus areas include:
Vulnerability management – reporting and remediation
Working with CIP partners to understand threats & risks in order to strategically invest
Development & execution of programs related to improving the cyber security risk posture of Evernorth
Work with Evernorth application teams to ensure server & Databases are correctly patched according to SLA’s
Monitor/plan help application teams remediation of out of support/end of Life technologies
This role will have to ensure challenges are addressed and escalated appropriately, provide strategic guidance and counsel on organizational imperatives, align the leadership team, and the drive the appropriate flow of decisions and information occurs.
Serves as proxy for the Evernorth Technology Chief Operating Officer on vital matters within the organization and across the enterprise on cross-business/functional priorities and strategic initiatives across the security and Infrastructure space
Drives the execution of roadmap, project efforts, and major initiatives as directed
Drives forward Evernorth Technology’s vulnerability management and patching areas to ensure we are meeting SLA’s.
The successful candidate for this role will be a collaborative leader, a facilitator, an open-minded innovator, a self-starter, and possess strong capabilities to transform various ideas and actions into a synthesized set of business plans and processes for an executive level audience.
Core Responsibilities
Leadership: Work collaboratively with the Evernorth leadership team and key leaders across the organization to drive execution against Evernorth goals.
Monitors information flow; sometimes acting as a consultant to ensure the involvement of the Tech Leadership in a project or decision-making process is at the right moment.
Develop a understanding of Evernorth business to inform strategy, actions needed from the team, and highlight/enable engagement efforts for leadership
Establish strong working relationships and develop a high level of credibility across the business, including other Executive and Senior Leaders, and with matrix partners
Lead within a matrix environment, including internal associates, external partners and consultants
Management Process & Operating Model:
Owns coordination / curation of management process; responsible for ongoing implementation, adherence, revisions, etc. Oversees team meetings, strategic areas of focus across the team and governance for Evernorth in partnership with the rest of the Evernorth leadership team.
Facilitate and coordinate identification and fulfillment of key deliverables/objectives to drive incremental progress toward annual goals and programmatic initiatives.
Act as a connection point among business leadership, providing proactive identification of opportunities and issues that could impact the successful execution of commitments
Communications:
Partners very closely with CIP and GI&O teams on overall communication strategy. Assists in the content creation for key communication materials to be used internally and externally. Support the development of executive audience materials as required, leveraging SMEs and Communication partners
Strong persuasion skills and effective communicator; ability to create and communicate a compelling vision internally and externally
Qualifications:
6 years of Systems Engineering and Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience or education.
6 years of Management experience in a Platform Management or Technology Services Management role
4 years of experience in delivery of technology transformation projects.
4 years of experience in Vulnerability & Service Management
