The Safety Technician position will be responsible to handle, but is not limited to the following:
Verify availability or monitor use of safety equipment, such as hearing protection or respirators.
- Supply, operate, or maintain personal protective equipment.
- Evaluate situations or make determinations when a worker has refused to work on the grounds that danger or potential harm exists.
- Recommend corrective measures to be applied based on results of environmental contaminant analyses.
- Prepare or review specifications or orders for the purchase of safety equipment, ensuring that proper features are present and that items conform to health and safety standards.
- Conduct worker studies to determine whether specific instances of disease or illness are job-related.
- Inspect portable fire systems to ensure proper working order.
- Maintain logbooks of daily activities, including areas visited or activities performed.
- Ability to coordinate and conduct daily safety training.
- Possess a strong commitment to employee involvement, team building, diversity.

Work Conditions/Physical Demands
- Frequent sitting, walking and direct face to face customer service interaction.

- Must occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds.
- Working in all weather conditions heat, cold, rain.
Requirements
- High school diploma preferred.
- Working knowledge of 29 CFR 1910 & 1926 preferred.
- OSHA 30 preferred.
- CSST, NCCER, CSSS, Safety Technology, Field Safety preferred.
- First Aid, CPR certification preferred.
- Construction and refinery experience preferred.
- Knowledge and experience of plant and terminal processes.
- Ability to work with a variety of personalities in a professional manner.
- Excellent problem solving, creativity, and training skills.
- Bilingual a plus
