The Materials Manager will direct and control the movement of materials in, through and out of the facility. Manage key materials related functions such as material planning, production scheduling, and inventory control.
Essential Responsibilities
- Establishes and maintains communications to satisfy the needs of the plant while facilitating a consistent and coordinated interface with customers and suppliers (via the sourcing team) on quality, delivery, cost, safety and other performance objectives.
- Leads the Production scheduling team, Logistics functions, Materials Analyst, & Cycle counters to support the plant strategy and project initiatives.
- Accountable to implement and maintain the materials playbook, materials management assessments, and ERP rules management
- Responsible for the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning process (Step 3)
- Supports monthly capacity planning and make/ buy decisions
- Works closely with the Central Buying team to bridge plant initiatives and strategy. Supports cost out opportunities and supplier replenishment, claims, spot buys, outside vendor operations, etc.
- Supports intercompany trade processes, metrics, and initiatives
- Provides functional leadership in cross-functional teams working towards continuous process improvement, elimination of waste and simultaneous engineering.
- Deploys lean techniques, standard work, and other cost reduction activities throughout the materials organization.
- Supports compliance to corporate initiatives and corporate commodity strategies to achieve synergy across the operation.
- As a member of the leadership team, sets overall plant policies and procedures to ensure safe, effective operations consistent with Cimarron Values.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum 5 years experience in supply chain
- Minimum 2 years managerial experience
- Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
- MBA or Master's Degree
- 7 years experience in Supply Chain Management.
- Engineering or Manufacturing experience
- Self-directing and self-motivating.

- Ability to lead cross-functional teams
- Ability to stand, sit and/or walk on a hard surface as well as safely bend, stoop, reach, climb steps and use ladder.

- Vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Vision to accurately read all related distribution documents and computer monitor screens.
- Travel 20%
- Demonstrated record of success in positions of increasing materials management responsibility and will be exceptional at developing, managing and leading directly or indirectly the full complement of financial, operational and administrative responsibilities of the organization.
- Must be committed to the development of the Materials team professionally through consistent and meaningful feedback, coaching, and recognition.
- Proven reputation for financial acumen, strategic thinking, business judgment, quantitative analysis ability, and leadership skills.
- A strong understanding of manufacturing and a keen appreciation for the issues confronting an evolving, dynamic, with operational complexities is required.
- Must possess the intellectual skills to guide the organization from the Materials standpoint, and this intellect must be complemented by a strong process orientation, a demonstrated track record of being a user, as well as a provider of information, and a qualitative orientation toward all business practices.
- Must be well organized, persistent, and metrics-driven; and possessing strong leadership and relationship instincts.
- Energy, creativity, focus, multi-dimensional thinking, strong work ethic and interpersonal skills are required.
