Position Summary

The Service Manager, reporting directly to the National Service Manager and will be responsible for the management of the Mid-Atlantic Service team. Their responsibility is to maintain and improve the financial and operational performance of service projects and contracts. Additionally, this role implements and enforces business and operational procedures to provide quality, cost-effective responsive customer service.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the service department in the region.
  • Manage the region’s fleet of service vehicles and assignments.
  • Review and approve weekly payroll timesheet for all direct reports.
  • Review and approve expenditures for all direct reports.
  • Direct the daily duties of the service coordinator.
  • Support service technicians and supervisors as a strong people leader when needed.
  • Manage all product support execution in the region. This includes but is not limited to scheduling of technicians and assigning JR Technician / Mechanics as appropriate for training opportunities.
  • Direct start-up/commissioning assistance for any projects within the region.
  • Direct and oversee warranty resolution for all projects within the region.
  • Provide annual performance reviews for each direct report.
  • Assist in the development of the annual service budget.
  • Recruit/hire/onboard new service field workers.
  • Manage CIMCO Technician training program.
  • Manage all warranty issues from start to close.
  • Hold weekly warranty meetings for your region.
  • Communicate as required with Account Managers regarding fixed price work performed on matters including changes in scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Communicate with Sales Manager as required regarding execution of all service/small project work on matters including changes in scope, schedule and costs.

Required Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

  • College education in business administration or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a management role within a service industry such as refrigeration, HVAC, mechanical controls, etc.
  • Strong business acumen with a key focus on health and safety, performance management, and improving business profitability
  • Adept at implementing organizational change management initiatives
  • Proven track record of demonstrating leadership by example
  • Able to influence change and lead by collaboration
  • Experience with industrial refrigeration, including ammonia-based systems, a strong asset
