Job Title: Mental Performance Coach
Department: Baseball Operations - Health & Performance
Reports To: Director of Mental Performance
FLSA: Salary, Exempt
Job Purpose: The Cincinnati Reds are seeking to add a qualified Mental Performance Coach to their existing Mental Performance staff. This role will serve the organization’s minor league affiliates. This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain consistent collaboration and communication with other Mental Performance staff.
- Support players and staff across affiliates throughout the season; be accessible for remote support.
- Develop and deliver evidence-based, best practices-based content.
- Lead one-on-one sessions as well as small group and team sessions.
- Participate in Spring Training, Draft Camp, Instructional League, and additional relevant camps.
- Work within an integrated Health and Performance team.
- Communicate regularly with other staff in Health and Performance and Player Development.
- Maintain regular records.
- Ensure early identification of mental health concerns and make appropriate referrals to the organization’s Wellness Manager.

- Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Experience, Education, and Licensure:
- Master’s degree in sport psychology, performance psychology, or a related discipline.
- 2 years experience working with professional, collegiate, or elite level athletes, or military populations.
- Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) preferred.
- Prior professional baseball experience as a mental performance consultant, player, and/or coach preferred.
Requirements:
- Adherence to the Association of Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) Code of Ethics.
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred.
- Valid passport.
- Travel to affiliates within the United States and the Dominican Republic.
