Duties and responsibilities
- Develop and implement process operations and routing for parts and assemblies.
- Plan and coordinate production engineering processes on a daily basis to produce high quality products
- Develop process improvements to effectively utilize equipment and materials to maximum production.
- Develop operational strategies to achieve production and financial objectives.
- Identify unsafe operations and practices and work to remedy immediately.
- Provide engineering support for production and maintenance activities to ensure maximum production.
- Perform engineering analysis to reduce downtime and outages.
- Evaluate current production activities and make recommendations for improvements.
- Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality standards.
- Develop operating instructions and equipment specifications for production activities.
- Provide training and guidance to team members to accomplish production goals.
- Stay current with product specifications, engineering technology and production processes.
- Develop best practices to improve production capacity, quantity and reliability.
- Investigate problems, analyze root causes and derive resolutions.
- Aid in budget preparation and monitor expenses and profitability.
Qualifications:
- B. S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
- 1 - 3 years previous experience in a production engineering setting
- Working knowledge in using Solidworks and AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably utilizing Epicor 9/10 or equivalent ERP system
- Prior experience in an engineer to order manufacturing environment a plus
- Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Must be self-directed, detail oriented, reliable, and have strong initiative
- Ability to work in a manufacturing and office environment
