Cinfed is seeking a consumer lending leader to complete the organization’s transition to centralized lending. This critical role will oversee the consumer lending activities for a $700M asset credit union with a staff of approximately 10 direct reports.

Cinfed is seeking a consumer lending leader to complete the organization’s transition to centralized lending. This critical role will oversee the consumer lending activities for a $700M asset credit union with a staff of approximately 10 direct reports.
Position Purpose:
Accountable for planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the Consumer Lending Department; including loan promotions and extensions of installment credit both directly to Credit Union (CU) members and indirectly through an approved local automotive dealership network. Ensures that credit operations are in accordance with established Best Practices, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements; resulting in increased loan volume earning commensurate risk-based pricing yields and industry standard delinquency ratios. Works collaboratively with Chief Lending Officer (CLO) and Senior Staff towards achieving the CU’s strategic initiatives. Responsible for employee development of the Consumer Lending team through training, coaching and performance appraisals. Fully implements Centralized Lending with the support of appropriate branch management. Ensures that services are delivered professionally, efficiently and that member issues are addressed with a sense of urgency.

Position Responsibilities:
- Accountable for increasing Consumer Loan Production while effectively mitigating credit risk.
A. Works collaboratively with CLO in developing strategic plans, setting goals, updating loan programs/products and interest rate pricing model.
B. Increases direct auto loan penetration within CU’s membership and builds dealer relationships among CU’s indirect lending network.
C. Fully implements Centralized Lending with Consumer Lending Department and Branch Network.
D. Serves as liaison for Consumer Lending related aspects during periodic internal/external audits and NCUA examinations.

- Provides effective Consumer Loan Portfolio Management oversight
A. Conducts monthly direct & indirect Loan reviews collaboratively with CLO, with particular attention to new originations having elevated risk factors.
B. Effectively communicates opportunities for growth and areas of concern with Consumer Lending team.
C. Tracks and evaluates work quality, efficiency and productivity; defines appropriate limits of approval authority for Consumer Lending employees and ensures that deadlines are met.

- Responsible for Consumer Lending Employee Development.
A. Provides leadership to department through effective goal setting, training and coaching. Conducts staff meetings as required and informs employees of policy and procedure changes, areas needing improvement, new developments or services and to present general information.
- Maintains internal and external business relationships on behalf of Cinfed.
A. Ensures that professional business relationships exist with members, vendors and industry trade professionals.
- Assumes professional responsibility for leading by example in alignment with Cinfed’s Core Values.

Education/Certification:
- A college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school.
Required Knowledge:
- Thorough knowledge of Credit Union loan products and applicable policies and standards.
- Thorough knowledge of Centralized Lending processes and workflow.
- Indirect Lending oversight and dealer relationship management.
- Expertise in consumer loan underwriting, risk-based pricing and lending promotions
Experience Required:
- Seven or more years of like-kind experience, including five or more years of management experience.
- Five years of Consumer Lending experience, including three years of portfolio management or related experience.
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, including problem solving skills.
- Departmental budgeting and contract negotiation skills
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data, loan applications and credit bureaus.
- Good project management abilities, organized, detail oriented and ability to meet deadlines.

- Annual base salary of $105K-125K dependent on level of experience. This position is also eligible for an annual bonus based on both individual and company performance.
