Assistant Chef

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Chef to join our team. As an Assistant Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and provide exceptional culinary experiences to our guests. This is a dynamic role that requires strong leadership skills and a passion for the culinary arts.

Duties:
- Assist the Head Chef in preparing and cooking high-quality dishes
- Help create and develop new menu items
- Ensure food is prepared and presented according to established standards
- Supervise kitchen staff and provide guidance when needed
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations in the kitchen
- Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient workflow and timely service
- Assist in training new kitchen staff members

Requirements:
- Previous experience as a cook or assistant chef in a restaurant or similar setting
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of kitchen management principles, including inventory control and food cost management
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Preferred Skills:
- Culinary degree or certification
- Experience in menu planning and recipe development
- Familiarity with food safety regulations
