What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Teller- 28-32 hours/wk position at Circle Federal Credit Union?
Responsible for assisting members with transactional duties such as processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and much more in a friendly and professional manner. Balance each day’s transactions and verifies cash totals. Ensures members are promptly and proficiently served.
· Greet and welcome members to the credit union in a courteous, professional and timely manner, providing prompt, accurate and efficient member transactions.
· Promptly answer incoming calls in a courteous fashion and transfer if need be.
· Cash share drafts/checks and process withdrawals. Pay out money after member checks receipt and verification of signature occurs.
· Process cashier’s checks and money orders.
· Ensure CFCU’s quality reputation is maintained and projected.
· Do not engage in conversation with other staff or members while assisting a member.
· Keep a log of daily monetary transactions through the calculator.
· Be familiar with and follow check cashing policy.
· Disburse withdrawals by cash or check.
· Process Visa cash advances as requested by members.
· Assist in training of new tellers.
· Responsible for purchasing/selling money from/to vault.
· Scan checks at the end of the day
· Maintain coin machine. Understand how to change bags and troubleshoot problems.
· Balance ATM in drive thru on days assigned.
· Maintain an up-to-date and broad knowledge on all related policies, procedures, rules and regulations, including robbery procedures.
· Ensure check cashing policy is adhered to.
· Efficiently run reports of delinquency notices and mail out.
· Print out new and old statements, sometimes from a CD.
· Sort through mail and disperse as necessary.
· File paperwork as needed.
· Redeem loyalty pay points.
· Make sure supplies are stocked and if not, put together a list of items that need ordering.
· Perform basic updates of member accounts such as address and phone number.
· Balance cash drawer throughout the day and compare with computer-generated balance sheet. Research and resolve any discrepancy. Report any discrepancy to supervisor as necessary.
· Promptly execute night deposit every morning. Solve any discrepancies.
· Receive and process loan payments and deposits in person or by mail.
· Reset passwords for online banking and telephone banking for members.
· Ensure that all information and transactions within the credit union are kept confidential.
· Complete all verifications that come through via fax or mail and then fax back and file.
· Batch and transmit checks at the end of each day. If check didn’t scan, then prepare and mail out.
· Help plan events for credit union.
· Maintain a clean, secure and organized work area.
· Prepare items for community projects such as golf outings, trick or treat, etc.
· Present and explain a basic number of credit union products and services to members.
· Inform and redeem loyalty pay points when applicable.
· Assist member with home banking on public computer.
· Ensure TV is on for PowerPoint slideshow. Update PowerPoint on TV when necessary.
· Actively cross sells Credit Union products and services. Informs members of Credit Union policies and services.
· Works to meet or exceed personal referral goals.
· Refer members to mortgage, consumer loan departments, and investment advisor.
· Follow credit union procedure to handle returned mail.
· Attend staff meetings as required.
· Observe the dress code.
· May be required to train in some aspects of member service.
Assumes additional responsibilities as needed.
