Job Description Overview: Production Post Press Lead
The Production Post Press Lead has the primary responsibility to maintain and prioritize the production schedule throughout all stages of production. This position is responsible for safety, quality, staff organization, process documentation and throughput. The shift lead is also required to assist in labor tasks to ensure products ship in a timely manner while following directions given by the Production Manager
General Labor – 70%
- At the direction of the Production Manager; complete all duties as assigned
- Maintain focus on safety, ensuring self and other team members are following safety policies and adhering to PPE standards
- Ensure all products are being produced to a high level of quality.
- Be working at all times, either performing duties to complete orders or maintaining housekeeping/5S
- Communicate all concerns, issues or observations related to safety, quality or continuous improvement
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and best practices.
- Submit and manage ideas for improvements in processes geared towards lean manufacturing.
- Appropriately manage timecard and schedule
- Maximize efficiency and utilize “Print Queue Manager” and “CGOM” to ensure orders are processed and in the correct phase of production throughout the day
- Correspond with account managers via email to ensure any abrupt changes that are made throughout the day are handled accordingly
- Inspect and ensure all products meet Circle Graphics quality demands
- Train others and/or perform all positions
Continuous Improvement: 20% of position responsibility
• Identify and communicate potential process improvements – assist Production Manager on all improvement initiatives
• Identify cost savings opportunities (labor and yield) – assist Production Manager on all cost savings initiatives
• Commitment to good communication between employees across all shifts to ensure process changes and improvements are implemented consistently and effectively
Equipment Troubleshooting – 10%
- Conduct basic troubleshooting of production equipment
- Work with maintenance technicians on appropriate repairs of all equipment
- Ensure basic maintenance and cleanliness of all production equipment and space
- Communicate machine downtime to the production manager and assist with the repair as needed
- Work to maintain printers in one pass as frequently as possible
Additional Task and Responsibilities:
• Other duties and special projects as assigned
• Work directly with Production Manager/VP of Operations on projects as needed/assigned
• Identify areas the department can improve and plan and implement new programs and processes to help facilitate this change
Skills, Intellectual Demands and Job Requirements:
EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:
• Must have 4 years in Print Production or Manufacturing
• Must be able to perform all duties effectively and proficiently
