JOB SUMMARY:
As a member of the Analytics & Insights Team, the Director, People Analytics is an everyday partner of our North American (NA) Human Resources department, helping to develop data-driven solutions for our most important asset, our people.
The Director is responsible for building out Human Capital / People analytics efforts across Circle K’s North America business units. Communication skills must be highly polished and suitable for internal and external presentation. The Director, People Analytics reports to the Head of North American Analytics.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Monitor, coordinate, and communicate the strategic objectives of People Analytics to internal stakeholders
- Act as point of contact for all North American BUs, D&A, and global teams for all matters regarding People Analytics
- Interfaces and aligns with other Analytics teams in both North America and Europe to ensure alignment in objectives and company-wide goals
- Collect, analyze, and utilize data and feedback to identify opportunities within the Human Capital domain
- Promote and facilitate the development of self-service capabilities for the Business Units for the access of analytics and reporting of Human Capital
- Work with other team members to develop a greater understanding of the business and any issues that arise out of analytical output
- Proactively identify problems pertaining to Human Capital impacting multiple BUs or global workstreams, processes, communications and develops action plan for solution, to include any applicable analytical efforts
- Analyze in-market strategic initiatives and business performance using different analytical methods, benchmarking, statistical concepts, and financial measures to guide decision making
- Constructively challenge the status quo to advance and evolve how Circle K thinks about Human Capital, given rapidly changing internal and external / environmental trends
- Generate ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required
- Concisely explaining complex analytical findings to non-analytical peers
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of People and Labor Analytics domain, preferably in retail
- Significant experience in driving HR / People analytics and related improvement programs
- Deep knowledge on the structure, timing, and key metrics included in Labor reporting and analysis
- Advanced skill level with enterprise reporting systems and relational database management systems
- Knowledge of SQL programming fundamentals and statistical analysis tools preferred
- Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) and data visualization software
- Highly proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
- Able to learn and utilize new and additional analytics tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, R, Python, etc.) as needed
- Experience with large data processing platforms
- Travel up to 20%
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Bachelor’s degree with quantitative focus, or MS/MBA degree preferred
- 3+ Years of experience in People Analytics
- 7+ years of experience in an analytical role preferred. (Analytics, Financial Planning & Analysis, Economics, Market Research)
