What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Strategy Principal position at Circle?
What you’ll be responsible for:
Our team seeks to drive strategic impact throughout our business. Circle is looking for you to partner closely with the VP of Corporate Development, product leaders, executive leadership team, alliances and partnerships team, and other key stakeholders on projects aligned with our product, technology, and growth priorities. You will also be involved in M&A activities (acquisitions, corporate investments, and partnerships).
What you'll work on:
- Driving project opportunities with leaders to answer our most important strategic questions.
- Partnering with the organization to ensure we have a robust understanding of the landscape, dynamics, and trends in which we operate (financial services and crypto industries).
- Identifying, prioritizing, and evaluating potential acquisition, investment, and partnership opportunities.
- Preparing business cases, conducting due diligence, assessing risk.

What you’ll bring to Circle:
- 12 years of relevant experience, including direct experience in management consulting, corporate development, or PE/VC investing, gained in both a corporate and investment bank / VC environment.
- Excellent intrinsic capabilities, including strong quantitative and analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong executive presence, high motivation, low ego, deep intellectual curiosity.
- Ability to build relationships (internally and externally), lead projects/deals, prioritize opportunities in a rapid paced corporate and industry environment.
- Experience in assessing industries, trends, futures and the ability to distill and articulate the most important drivers.
- Extensive client-facing or internal experience across all facets of product and business and a deep understanding of how to assess businesses, fundamentals, and models.
- Experience/familiarity with Slack, Apple MacOS and GSuite.
